        • Described as “bros who mostly sing about weightlifting and Bob Balanan”, The Macho Men play every now and then, here and there around town. Although their shows have been far-flung since they started gigging in late 2016, they love to get loud and fast on stage and bring a bit of fun with them.

        • @RTRFM local feature album comes from local luminary and friend of the station, @Carla_Geneve with her EP of the same name. .
.
.
Just two years on from her debut single, Fremantle-based Carla Geneve has been making huge waves across WA and the country, releasing a string of acclaimed songs and touring relentlessly, including support slots for the likes of Cat Power, Jen Cloher and Stella Donnelly, which eventually led to her signing to the influential Dot Dash Recordings label, who have released her long-awaited, self-titled EP. .
.
.
Continuing her brand of undeniably Australian alt-folk rock, the EP is driven by Geneve’s prowess with the guitar, and driven by her groove-laden rhythm section. Lyrically raw, intense and reflective, the EP tackles themes of loneliness, heartbreak and isolation in an incredibly powerful manner, leaving us all wondering just what Geneve will achieve next.

        • @RTRFM 92.1's feature album this week comes from Boston's @Palehound with their third record exploring all forms of love, Black Friday. .
.
.
Taking centre stage once again is singer/songwriter Ellen Kempner’s thoughtful, melodic voice that compliments every song on the album with a sense of tender sensitivity. Co-produced by Kempner and Gabe Wax (Beirut, Soccer Mommy), the 12 songs that make up Black Friday were mainly tracked live, giving them an organic, energetic feeling as they explore a wide range of elegant indie-rock styles. .
.
.
Building on the emotional complexity of their past album, Black Friday is a therapeutic, blissful exploration of alternative pop that soothes the listener in an introspective, emotional manner. .
